Acro I 5-8 |
Acro I is a beginner class for students interested in acrobatics and dance. Students will learn proper warm ups and stretches of the wrists, legs and back before performing any tricks. Tricks learned will include, back bends, hand stands, cart wheels and front and backward rolls. |
Acro II 8-12 |
Acro II is the next level up from Acro I and is a class that blends acrobatics and dance together. Students will learn proper warm ups and stretches of the wrists, legs and back before performing any tricks. Tricks done in Acro I will be reviewed and perfected on both the right and left sides as well as more advanced ticks such as front and back walk overs, chin stands and aerials. |
Adult Beginner/Int. Tap |
This class is perfect for those who are new to tap dancing or wish to revisit their skills after some time away. Class introduces balance and rhythm. Class will begin with warm-ups, repetition of tap steps in place as well as basic movements across-the-floor and simple combinations. |
Adult Advanced Tap |
Adult Tap III is for an experienced tap dancer. This class utilizes fundamental skills that focus on rhythm, musicality, and timing. Classes will begin with warm-ups, repetition of tap steps in place as well as across-the-floor exercises, and combinations. Upon fruitful progression, the class shall further develop skills focusing on speed, clarity, and performance. This class performs in the annual recital. |
Ballet II 10-14 |
Ballet II is designed for a Pre Teen dancer with past ballet experience. Students will learn more advanced ballet terminology and combinations. They will work a lot at the barre as well as in the center learning combinations and exercises to progress dancers toward ballet leaps and pirouettes. |
Ballet / Tap I Advanced |
Ballet / Tap I is a combination Ballet and Tap class for the advanced young dancer. This class builds on the foundational concepts of Pre-Ballet / Tap I & II to grow technique, musicality, dance terminology, and overall ability in both styles. Class will include classical ballet work at the barre and in the center as well as tap technique and combinations. |
Boys Hip Hop I 5-8 |
Hip Hop II is a class designed for boys ages 5-8. Students will learn basic warm-ups and stretches, how to count and listen to the beats in music, as well as basic hip hop movement. Dancers will play with improvisation through dance related games. |
Broadway Babies I |
Broadway Babies I is a class designed to introduce toddlers to basic ballet. This class emphasizes coordination skills through movement with music. It introduces stretch movements through dance combinations to children's songs. Toddlers will have an in-house performance at the dance studio in June. |
Broadway Babies II |
Broadway Babies II is a continuation of Broadway Babies I. This class is an introduction to dance that emphasizes coordination skills through movement with music. It exposes the child to basic ballet and stretches through dance combinations to children's songs. Dancers will perform in the annual, studio-wide recital. |
Contemporary I 8-10 |
Contemporary I is a beginner contemporary class with influences of Modern dance that have focus on breath and contraction. Dancers will explore with new shapes and improvisation. |
Contemporary II 10-14 |
Contemporary II is the next level of contemporary I and designed for students will past knowledge of the Technique. With influences of modern dance, dancers will play with breath, contraction and stillness. Dancers will explore with new shapes through improvisation and tricks both in the air and on the floor. |
Hip Hop I 5-7 |
Hip Hop I is an introduction to the hip hop technique for beginner dancers. Students will learn proper stretches, musicality as well as strengthening and balancing skills necessary for hip hop. Dancers will play with improvisation through dance related games. |
Hip Hop II 6-9 |
Hip Hop II is course designed for students ages 6-9. Students will learn basic warm-ups and stretches, how to count and listen to the beats in music, as well as basic hip hop movement. |
Jazz I 5-7 |
Jazz I is an introduction to the jazz technique for beginner dancers. Students will learn proper stretches, musicality as well as strengthening and balancing skills necessary for intermediate jazz. |
Jazz II 8-10 |
Jazz II 8-10 is an introduction to the jazz technique for beginner dancers. This is the next level up from Jazz I. Students will learn proper stretches, musicality as well as strengthening and balancing skills necessary for more advanced jazz classes. |
Jazz II 9-12 |
Jazz II 8-12 is a class designed for beginner pre teens. This is the next level up from Jazz I. Students will learn basic warm-ups and stretches, how to count music as well as strengthening exercises that will help prepare students for pre teen and teen jazz. |
Jazz / Hip Hop I |
Jazz I / Hip Hop I is an introduction to the hip hop technique for beginner dancers. Students will learn proper stretches, musicality as well as strengthening and balancing skills necessary for hip hop. |
Jazz / Lyrical 8-11 |
Jazz / Lyrical I is a beginner class for students interested in both styles of dance. Students will learn to move their bodies in different ways depending on how fast/slow the music is. There is only one recital dance for this class. |
Lyrical II 8-12 |
Lyrical II is a class offered for ages 8 to pre teen for students interested in both Ballet and Jazz. Lyrical is a combination of these two forms where grace, lyric-ed music and expression are used altogether. Students will learn proper warm ups and stretches for leaps and turns as well as discovery of musicality and fluidity. |
Musical Theater I 6-9 |
Musical Theater I is a beginner class for students interested in both dancing and acting. Students will learn the beginner basics of the Broadway Jazz as well as performance and facial expressions. |
Musical Theater II 8-12 |
Musical Theater II the next level up from Musical Theater I for a dancer with 2+ years of experience. Students will learn more advanced movement of Broadway Jazz as well as performance and facial expressions. |
Pre Ballet / Tap I |
Pre Ballet / Tap I is the next level up from Broadway Babies where dancers will begin to expand their knowledge of ballet and skills. Dancers will also be introduced to tap where the child will learn basic sounds at the barre as well as across the floor. Dancers will be in two dances at the end of the year recital: one ballet dance & one tap dance. |
Pre Ballet / Tap II |
Pre Ballet / Tap II is the Continuation of Pre Ballet / Tap I. Combination ballet and tap class teaches the student coordination skills, rhythm, basic terminology, and proper use of muscles. This will help prepare the student for the next level of dance and additional dance styles. Students will perform both a ballet dance and tap dance in the studio's end of the year dance recital. |
Pre Teen Hip Hop II |
Pre Teen Hip Hop expands on the dancers knowledge of basic hip hop movement, isolations and musicality. Students will learn both center combinations as well as across the floor with fast paced steps and rhythms. |
Pre Teen Jazz / Lyrical II |
Pre Teen Jazz / Lyrical focuses on strengthening skills important to both the Jazz and Lyrical Technique. Students will learn to move their bodies in different ways depending on how fast/slow the music is. There is only one recital dance for this class. |
Teen Ballet / Contemporary III |
Teen Ballet / Contemporary III is an hour and a half combination class offering the highest level of Ballet and Contemporary. In ballet, students will be challenged with combinations at both the barre, center and across the floor. Topics covered include, Adagio, Petite Allegro and Grande Allegro. Contemporary II is greatly influenced by modern dance and will have focus on breath and contraction. Dancers will explore with new shapes and improvisation as well as improve on balance and emotion through movement. |
Teen Hip Hop III |
Teen Hip Hop is the most advanced level of hip hop offered at BBDC. Students will play with all styles of Hip Hop such as House, Popping, Tutting and more. Students will have more freedom of movement through improvisation and different styles of music, both fast paced and slow. |
Teen Jazz / Lyrical III |
Teen Jazz / Lyrical is the most advanced level of Jazz and Lyrical offered at BBDC. This class focuses on advanced movement and tricks as well as dynamics, musicality and stage presence. There is only one recital dance for this class. |
Pre Teen Tap I-II |
Teen Tap I-II is for beginner and intermediate pre teen tappers. This class is taken after Ballet/Tap Adv. I and is for the more serious and tap dancer. The intermediate tap technique is explored through rhythms, timing, and choreography through various types of music. Improvisation as well as acapella tap is explored as well. |
Teen Conditioning & Technique |
This class combines the principles of Pilates with the Barre Technique to build strength, proper alignment, breathing, and control. It's perfect for anyone looking to enhance their fitness routine with or without dance experience. Participants will focus on exercises that support overall body strength and flexibility, providing a strong foundation that can benefit dancers and non-dancers alike. |
Pre Teen Ballet/Pre Pointe 11-14 |
This class is designed for pre-teens who want to refine their ballet technique and prepare for pointe work. The focus will be on strengthening the ankles, calves, and core to build the necessary foundation for pointe training. |
Teen Jazz/Contemporary Non Recital |
This class is perfect for dancers who want to continue dancing for fun without the pressure of performing. Switching weekly between jazz and contemporary styles, the class involves floor work, flexibility and strength training, combinations and improvisation. It’s an excellent opportunity for dancers to explore different techniques, stay active, and enjoy the creative expression of dance in a relaxed and supportive environment. |
Adult Beginner Jazz I |
This class is ideal for beginner Jazz dancers or those returning to dance after a long break. Each session includes a warm-up, stretching, and learning small combinations designed to challenge both the mind and body. Come explore the joy of movement, improve your technique, and reconnect with your love for dance. |
