Choreographer for The Force Dance Company
Marissa Lazovick is a twenty-year-old dancer, choreographer, and teacher from Branchburg, New Jersey, currently pursuing a BFA in Contemporary Dance with a specialization in Choreography at Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Trained in ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary, improv, hip-hop, salsa, heels, acro, and musical theatre, Marissa is drawn to work that crosses styles and tells unique and powerful stories. At Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Marissa has choreographed full shows and collaborated with Berklee musicians and vocalists across a variety of genres. She has also choreographed multiple music videos featuring Boston Conservatory dancers and Berklee musicians. In addition to her work at BoCo, Marissa has spent the past several years teaching and choreographing for studios throughout New York and New Jersey. She enjoys creating choreography that challenges dancers while allowing their individual personalities and strengths to shine. Each summer, she also serves as Dance Director for Prestige Productions’ arts camp at the State Theater of Pennsylvania, where she leads dance programming and works with young dancers of varying ages and experience levels. Marissa has trained in Israel with Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company, performed at the Palm Desert Choreography Festival in California, and earned national recognition as an NDEO National Dance Scholar in high school. Her creative work extends beyond choreography to lighting, music editing, costuming, and marketing. Through her choreography and teaching, Marissa strives to explore themes of inclusion, compassion, community, hope, and the experiences that shape us. Her long-term goal is to earn a master’s degree in Choreography and become a college professor, creating, teaching, and making every student feel seen. |
